Holly, a vet nurse at West Toowoomba Veterinary Surgery

Holly may be small but she packs a lot of learning in that small frame. She is certified level 4 veterinary nurse and has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science ( majoring in Veterinary Technology). She is the devoted owner of 3 indoor cats, who regularly play " big brother and sister" to the waifs and strays shetakes home. They get on very well with the assorted birds she also loves. She also owns a nearly housebroken engineer, and together they love to tackle the great outdoors in her spare time.

Holly is in charge of the puppy preschool at the surgery. Her bubbly personality and enthusiasm is part of the reason this course is so successful.

Britney, a nurse at West Toowoomba Veterinary Surgery   Brittney

Brittney is currently completing her final subject at UQ gatton in a Bachelor of Applied Science. (majoring in Veterinary Technology). She originally came as a work experience but we loved her so much, we offered her a job. It is great to see her put her theoretical knowledge to work at the surgery as she completes her last few assignments.

She is learning all aspects of the vet nursing world, including puppy preschool. Her hobby seems to be taking adoption kittens home. The owner of 2 accident prone tortoiseshell cats, she is very pleased to be joining us as a full time nurse, so she can pay for their vet bills.

We are the official vets for the local RSPCA shelter.  We do low cost desexing and health care, as well as support them financially at their events

We offer cheap veterinary treatment to Queensland Animal Rescue,  Bull Arab, The Pawfect Companion and Animal Angels Rescue.

Every year we accept and treat hundreds of wildlife cases, asking only a small donation from those who chose to give.

We contribute to the AVA Petpep scheme.  This involves going out to school and teaching responsible pet ownership to school age children.  If you are a teacher interested in this FREE service, please ring us or the AVA on Tel: 07 3423 1788
